Uganda, you gotta get ready!
The VGC Group is coming to Uganda on February 13-14, 2020 to bring the Aftown Mall eCommerce Workshop Series. The workshop series aims to position African-based SMEs, African university faculty, staff, and students, to sell globally through an innovative curriculum that infuses Information and Communications technology (ICT), eCommerce and eMarketing.
With one of the youngest and most rapidly growing populations in the world, Uganda has a lot to gain from new technologies that can uplift its current economic standing. According to the World Bank, the country had experienced a slowdown in economic growth in the early years of the past decade, but was able to rebound in the latter half of 2017 due to growth in ICT. The VGC Group believes that continuous growth in ICT is needed to further improve the lives of Ugandans and decrease the level of poverty and unemployment across the country. The Uganda Investment Authority has likewise stated that the ICT sector has become an inevitable tool of socio-economic development.
The VGC Team is excited for the opportunity to share ICT knowledge and best practices to citizens of Uganda through the Aftown Mall eCommerce Workshop Series. The workshop will touch on various topics such as:
- Setting up an Online Business With eCommerce
- How to Sell Using Social Media
- Introduction to Web Development and Coding
- Capture, Track and Retain Customer Interest
- How to Take Local Products and Sell to Global Customers
VGC invites African-based small to medium-sized companies, aspiring African-based business owners and University students undertaking business courses with ICT blend to apply to participate in this premier workshop.
The workshop will be held in the country’s capital, the city of Kampala. The VGC Group has partnered with Makerere University to conduct the two-day workshop on its campus.
To ensure the continuous dissemination of ICT knowledge for the next generation, after the workshop, the training content will be integrated in the course content of four MAK-SVAR university modules: Principles of Business Management and Entrepreneurship; Computing and Information technology; Entrepreneurship & Innovations in Animal Production (CU 3); and Farm ICT and eCommerce.
The Aftown Mall eCommerce Workshop Series is open for registration until January 15, 2020. It is made possible through the following partners: Michigan State University, Alliance for African Partnership, Makerere University and LUANAR. For more information, visit this link.
